Kaan was clear and homing in on goal so it should have been a Red, but .... was he fearful of giving a Red at Inonu which might affect his refereeing career ??!!

He took the easy option knowing that the Ankaragucu players wouldn't make an issue of it when a goal resulted from the rebound ! He came out of his area and punched the ball, did the referee just give a yellow because Kaan scored ? what is the real rule ?

No probs burra kanka, glad you got to see the game.Nadyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01426759805328711471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19571982.post-16567359641040608412012-11-29T17:58:53.038+02:002012-11-29T17:58:53.038+02:00Great report Nadeem and a great performance from A...Great report Nadeem and a great performance from Ankaragucu.

I was only able to watch bits and pieces of the match, but I saw the 'penalty' incident and in my eyes (as an ex-Class 1 Referee) I felt that the defender was going for the ball, therefore there was no 'intent' to bring the man down. However, I appreciate that the Ref had to make a snap decision and unfortunately he didn't give Ankaragucu the benefit of the doubt !

Disagree with Burra Kanka. I'm sure the team will be all fired up to keep the show on the road and get at least one point. We haven't lost touch with the 4th bottom team ...... yet, and I'm sure that this is something which the coaching staff will be stressing to the players !Eski Kanka Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00409300460469903974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19571982.post-64588950468045131212012-11-29T16:39:18.784+02:002012-11-29T16:39:18.784+02:00A brave effort indeed. Thanks for the link Nadeem, I managed to watch most of the second half (with some buffering probably due to my laptop).

Experience tells me that generally teams that put on a show like this often suffer in the following game, a case of 'after the Lord Mayor's Show'.

Let's hope that this is not the case for Ankaragucu.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10623159244516037850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19571982.post-69955399593592194502012-11-28T22:58:10.560+02:002012-11-28T22:58:10.560+02:00Agreed chris, there is two says this can go. One is they look back at their performance tomorrow and take all the positives and go and attack teams in ptt lig, or they can feel sorry for themselves and let their heads drop. Its a hard one to take but they have nothing to feel bad about.

NadeemNadyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01426759805328711471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19571982.post-55042156497201055372012-11-28T22:39:46.851+02:002012-11-28T22:39:46.851+02:00I watched most of the match and it was a brave eff...I watched most of the match and it was a brave effort put on by the Ankaragucu boys.

Sure, they deserve to hold their heads high but the feeling they will have on the bus home tonight is one of pure devastation. They came "this" close to knocking Besiktas out.

Unlucky chaps. Unlucky. Oz Kankahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01031790983671229117noreply@blogger.com
