So, I was quite impressed with your 'CV' of him.

His interview on Hibs TV yesterday after the appointment was announced was all about stressing the word 'work'. So, I think the players should prepare for some 'blood, sweat and tears' next week in the Training Ground !

He also stressed that having a grand Stadium and state of the art Training Area is all well and good, but it is results on the pitch that will judge how successful a Club really is.

Fighting talk and let's see how the players respond today in Perth and in the following weeks.

Good luck to him in his task of taking Hibs back to where they should be, ie, at the top of the League !

On a lighter note, I'm sure Father Hanlon (founder of Hibs in 1875) will be smiling down from his seat on the right hand of God and blessing Hibs for going back to their roots !!!

All the best from Eski Kanka JimAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19571982.post-73906194355329822672011-11-25T22:59:32.522+02:002011-11-25T22:59:32.522+02:00To lighten the mood here (for Jim anyway) and tota...To lighten the mood here (for Jim anyway) and totally off the subject (sorry) but an old mate of mine has today been appointed the new Hibs manager!Pat Fenlon has moved from Bohemians of Dublin to Edinburgh. He's from the same suburb as myself in Dublin and we would have played against each other throughout our careers, from schoolboy level to moving to England (he went to Chelsea as an apprentice, me to Luton Town) to moving back home and the League of Ireland.I played with Shamrock Rovers, Pat with St Patrick's Athletic. They were more successful than us at the time I must admit. They won a couple of league titles with Brian Kerr as manager.Pat Fenlon's nickname as a player was "Nutsy" due to his penchant for nutmegging opposing players.Wonder do the folk at Easter Road know that yet?!After St Pats Athletic he moved to Shelbourne and won another couple of titles there as player before becoming manager of Shelbourne. They continued their run of success in the domestic league and got to the verge of the Champions League group stages, losing in the third qualifying round to Deportivo La Coruna. He has been manager of Bohemians for the past few years, again winning a league title two years ago. After that the club had major financial problems from which they have yet to recover.
Now Jim, all this positivity comes with a BUT!
Throughout Nutsy's run of success, his teams have tended to play in a style that got results rather than fans. Not the easiest on the eye but effective. And thats really what Hibs need now I suppose.
Its a great move for him, a trip into the unknown really but I'll be very interested to see how it all pans out.
Sorry again for talking off subject but felt Jim would be interested in all this.
Good luck for tomorrow's game in Eskisehir!

Dublin Neil.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19571982.post-83959910149266411782011-11-24T22:56:30.374+02:002011-11-24T22:56:30.374+02:00dont even know who is going to be available Jim. The Slovak Goalkeeper never made the number 1 position his own since he came from Ankaraspor and will now look for another club.

Sami Altinuva has confirmed that Ziya Dogan will stay as manager and they will back him. He also said they have short, medium and long term plans for the club and they are working round the clock to make things better.

I know Harun wasnt to sure about him, but i like the way he has done his work so far and hope that he sticks to his word. The last thing we want is another Cemal Aydin or Ahmet Gokcek.Nadyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01426759805328711471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19571982.post-90666355431400462252011-11-23T18:00:34.270+02:002011-11-23T18:00:34.270+02:00Aye, the memories come flooding back. It really ...Aye, the memories come flooding back. It really is a great pity that this whole sorry story happened, because, like I said in my post of 'that' match, it is a beautiful city and we WERE planning to return there for future matches.

I guess it will be a long time before we can even contemplate it !

Looking to Sunday's match, and I'm with Nadeem again concerning predictions. We should not let our thoughts of last weekend's victory cloud our judgement. Of course, we will go to The Chopin and, as ever, be optimistic for .... some crumbs of comfort !!

All the best from Eski Kanka JimAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19571982.post-76840518308377565122011-11-22T22:21:18.857+02:002011-11-22T22:21:18.857+02:00And for the reason why there are no away supporter...And for the reason why there are no away supporters allowed at the match check out Sir Eski's report from a couple of years ago.
