Stumpf named new Genclerbirligi coach

Looks like Genclerbirligi have got themselves a new coach.

According to the Alkaralar website, an in-principle agreement has been reached with Reinhard Stumpf, a German who was an assistant to Gerets at Salatasaray.

He won't be in charge tonight though as he has gone off to Germany for a few days to find some assistant coaches. Gencler General Manager Cem Onuk says that he will sign an official deal in the next few days.

Mmmm. I don't know anything about this bloke. Do any of you lot?

  2. Further information from the Fountain of All Knowledge !

Herr Stumpf is 46 years old.

He was a defender, and his main 2 clubs were Kaiserslauten and FC Cologne.

He was in a coaching position with Kaiserslauten from 1997 to 2004.

Following that, he was an assistant coach with Galatasaray from 2005 until recently.

Perhaps Herr Briegel and Herr Stumpf will finally bring the 2 Big Ankara teams together under the name ANKARA UNITED ??!!
