Mehmet Tasci signs new contract as Enes jets out !

Ankaragucu received another boost when Mehmet Tasci became the latest player to agree a new 4 year contract. Mehmet made his debut for the club 2 years ago in the Super Lig against brother club Bursaspor. He has grown as a player over the last 12 months with his defensive qualities his best part of his game. Needs to improve on his passing and crossing but at 22 years old has a bright future.

One player on his way out of the club is Enes Kubat who has agreed a move to rivals Goztepe much to the anger of Ankaragucu fans. The player who was subject to interest from Super Lig side Antalyaspor has agreed to move to the Izmir side in which Ankaragucu will pick up 60,000 TL compensation.

Timur Ozgoz and Kaan Kanak are both attracting interest from Super Lig clubs, but i spoke to Timur tonight who said he could still stay with the club. Lets hope he stays !

Ankaragucu duo agree new contracts !

Ankaragucu received a major boost as Gokhan Erdogan and Teoman Sefa Erkan both agreed new contracts with the club. Gokhan signs a new 2 year contract and will look to build on his good campaign last season. A player with lightening pace and who scored some important goals will hope his brother Mert follows suit and also signs a new contract. Mert along with Timur and Bayram are believed to have held positive talks with the Management team.

Teoman broke into the team towards the end of the season and will be looking for a big improvement with his goals this season. Missed to many good chances last season but has the talent and just needs to find his confidence. Ankaraspor are still hoping to sign Mert much to the displeasure of Mehmet Yiginer who is hoping he will stay at the club as mentioned above.

New contracts for Ankaragucu duo !

Their was mixed news for Ankaragucu today with both Gurkan Alver and Metin Aydin agreeing new four year contracts with the club. A major boost for the club with Gurkan in particular a key player for the club last season in defence. The 21 year old is likely to become the clubs captain next season with Mert Erdogan moving to Ankaraspor. Former Ankaragucu General Manager Ender Yurtguven today confirmed Ankaraspor are set to sign Mert Erdogan and Tonia Tisdell.

Metin Aydin the former Turkish under 21 international will be looking to cement a place in the first team this coming season having only been a bit part player last season. Todays news will give the Ankaragucu support a lift, however they are likely to be angry that Ankaraspor are close to signing Mert and Tonia.

Serkan Sirin signs new contract !

Ankaragucu today announced that Serkan Sirin has agreed a new 3 year deal with the club. The midfielder who has had a stop start career so far since breaking into the first team. The news will come as a major boost to the club with Serkan at the age of  22 being one of the clubs most experienced players.

After a loan spell at Mardinspor, Hakan Kutlu recalled the gifted player back to the first team. After making a couple of appearances in the Super Lig, Serkan established himself as a first team player this season in the PTT Lig. After a good start Serkan was dropped to the A2 team by Mustafa Kaplan due to the players attitude. Credit where due Serkan apologised and worked hard in training to regain his place in the starting line up.

There is no doubting the ability of Serkan who is a very good player technically but he has a lot to learn. On a lot of occasions he choses the wrong pass or holds onto the ball to long, he needs to work on his fitness and also find his best position. The will be a big season and it will be interesting to see if new coach Hayati Soldas can get the best out of his player.

With a number of players leaving Bicer has a good chance of making the starting line up this season and is believed to be highly rated with the youth coaches. In other news today, Ankaragucu, Sakaryaspor and Kocaliespor chairman are in talks with the TFA in order to remove the rule of Amateur players having to wait 1 year before they sign a professional contract.

Mert Erdogan will decide in the coming weeks which team he will sign for with Adana Demirspor, Denizlispor and Sanliurfaspor all interested in the Ankaragucu captain. More news to come...

Latest news from Ankaragucu !

We apologise for the lack of updates on the Blog lately but more important things have been happening in Turkey with the Protests against the Government. Oz Kanka always told me not to discuss politics on the Blog or our Twitter page. Until now i have avoided discussing it but it is important that i send my support to the protestors in their fight for their freedom. Turkey is my favourite country and i hate to see it torn apart by politicians who wont listen to its people. The great man Kemal Mustafa Ataturk would be turning in his grave.

Anyway moving on from Politics and a couple of updates on Ankaragucu itself. Umut Nayir, Bilal Gundogdu and Artun Kutukcu have all agreed new contracts with the club and will be part of the first team in the coming season. The club have also announced former captain Hayati Yoldas as the teams new Manager replacing Mustafa Kaplan who left by mutual agreement a couple of weeks ago. Indeed Kaplan is set to become new coach of Hacetepe who are the B team of Genclerbirligi. A very strange move for Kaplan who many thought would take control of a PTT Lig team or Super Lig team.

The day Çarşı came to town

We are all in this together.
A day late this short report... sorry

Things have been a bit quiet in Istanbul. I admit Gazi has been kicking off but the general air around Gezi Park has been one of love and happiness.

It hasn't exactly been like that in Ankara and so a few members the Besiktas Çarşı group, many of whom were involved in the fiercest fighting in Istanbul in the first days of the protests, made a visit to Ankara.

Everyone, male, female, Gencler, Ankaragucu, everyone applauded them as they made their way up Tunalı Hilmi in the pouring rain to Kugulu Park.

With these protests, I have never seen such solidarity.

#OccupyGezi

It's difficult to think about anything other than the ongoing protests at the moment. The role of football fans has been (perhaps overly) stressed in the media.

But I did like this piece of graffiti in Tunali on Friday night.

This isn't supposed to be a political blog but I do want to put up one more photo.

Everyday I'm Chapulling!
