ANKARAGUCU - MID-SEASON BREAK

Greetings Kankas and Kankies.

From the pages of The Hurriyet this morning ............

Ankaragucu will be in their normal camp in Belek, Antalya until 12 January.

Two 'friendly' matches have been lined-up and one of them in particular will be of interest to Flying Dutchman Kanka Carlo !

9 January - Bochum of Germany

11 January - AZ Alkmaar of Holland

On their return to Ankara they will then face Buca on 15/16 January in Ankara in the crucial Cup match which will no doubt decide which of them will top the group.

In other news, Umit Ozat is quoted as saying that he is bringing in 2 new players, but the names haven't been released yet. I'm sure that Nadeem will be watching this news and will be first to report it !!

All the best from Eski Kanka Jim

And, yes, I don't know how he does it, but Nadeem seems to know of these things before just about anyone else.

  7. Agree with BD's last comment !

This is good news if it happens. We have sorely missed a fast winger who can cross the ball in for the likes of Vittek and Sestak.

It reminds me of the 'good olde days' when Hakan Keles used to whizz down the wing and send in those inviting balls for Augustine and Kennedy to put away.

    More of that pleeeeezzzzzz !

  13. This is the news we didn't want to hear !!

First of all we must not let Sapara go, and secondly, we don't want a 'has been' like Simsek at the Club !

I wonder if we can assume that Sapara will put money issues aside and stay with his two compatriots ??!!

C'mon Nadeem ..... pleeezzzz give us some good news !!!

  16. Hmmmmm .... not much detail available about Jaroslav Cerny, except that he's an attacking midfield player and he's been capped a few times for the Czech Republic.

I'm just praying that he's not being brought in to replace Sapara !!!

  17. Doesn't sound like it, Jim. Sounds like he is coming in to bolster the ranks.

We also apparently, tentatively picked up a 19 yr. old Greek left-back by the name of Chousein Konstantinos. Ümit will decide shortly whether Doğan and Konstantinos will stick around or not.

To find out more about Cerny, check out today's copy of Hürriyet (the Ankara insert).
