Ankaragucu vs Adana Demirspor match preview !

Ankaragucu travel to Adana on Sunday for the match against on form Adana Demirspor. After the midweek win over Corum Belediyespor its back to league action as Ankaragucu look for those three points to kick start their season. Currently lying bottom of the table, its important that Ankaragucu start picking up points or face another season of being left behind.

Adana Demirspor kick started their season with an impressive 4-2 win over rivals Adanaspor a few weeks back. They followed that up with impressive wins over Karsiyaka, Manisaspor and Sanliurfaspor. They have however been on the receiving end of a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Kayseri Erciyesspor so its not an impossible task for Ankaragucu.

The 2-0 win over Corum during the week wasn't the most impressive victory in the History of the club as they were taken to extra time after the game ended 0-0. However a clean sheet and confidence for the young players could be the lift they needed. It also gives them the possibility of a game in the next round against the big boys.

The most important thing from the game on Sunday is that the team is organised at the back and solid in midfield. To many goals of late have come from big gaps through the middle of the park or down the wings, and also some costly errors. Adana Demirspor have the players capable of punishing any team in the league. Forwards Juninho and Kaba have already scored 10 goals between them this season.

Umit Kurt again will be a huge player for Ankaragucu, who will also look for performances from the likes of Serkan Sirin, Gokhan Erdogan and Timur Ozgoz. A win for Adana will take them into the play off positions, a win for Ankaragucu will give them a lifeline in the battle against relegation.

Unfortunately i can only see one winner in this game, sometimes its better to go into games with low expectations, and to be fair to Ankaragucu we have performed a lot better against the leagues stronger sides this season.

  1. Some bad news, Mert Erdogan has been ruled out with injury and it looks like Kaan kanak is struggling to. Mehmet Cogum is also out.

  2. .....and there goes our hopes up in smoke !

To be quite blunt (unusual for me I can hear you say !!), Mert is the only player who has the vision and wherewithal to make things happen from midfield. Without his guile, Ankaragucu will be toiling to penetrate into Demirspor's penalty area.

Sorry to say that I anticipate another heavy defeat !
