Genclerbirligi started their Lig 1 campaign with a 1-0 win over Hatayspor at an empty Yenikent stadium. There was less than 1,000 in attendance which was the case in most Lig 1 matches at the weekend.
Mert Nobre scored the only goal of the game as the 37 year old got on the score sheet on his debut to give Gencler an important win.
I think I'm right in saying that he played for Gencler in the past. Oz Kanka will be able to confirm or refute this !
ReplyDeleteGood start to Gencler's aim of a quick return to the Super League. As we all know, there are no 'easy' matches in this league. However, let's hope they keep on winning and put pressure on the other hopefuls !!
