Gencler finally
score a goal !
They had to wait
until the last minute of the match yesterday to score their first goal in 5
matches, and at the same time .........steal a point !
I was unable to
watch the match due to ‘domestic duties’ but what seemed to be a fairly even
match suddenly exploded in Gencler’s favour when 2 Manisa players were shown
RED cards in the latter stages of the match.
Manisa, as the
draw specialists of the league with 10 (Gencler have 9) will no doubt have been
gutted to concede an equaliser at the death, but Gencler can at least stay with
the mid-table pack who are all vying for play-off places.
Eyupspor, at the
top of the league, and Goztepe in 2nd seem to be ‘home and dry’ with
Gencler 16 points behind Goztepe.

Gurbulak scored
a penalty for Manisa in the 53rd minute, and as I said before, Ensar
of Gencler grabbed the equaliser in 90 plus 7.
Next Monday may
well be a defining moment in the season for Gencler when they host relegation
threatened Sanliurfa. However, Urfa
is still within range of mid-table so they won’t be coming to Ankara just to
make up the numbers !!
