Greetings Kankas and Kankies.

As you know, I hate repeating myself !!!!    However, I have to say again what I said at the end of last season ......... the PTT League is no place for the faint-hearted !

Most of the teams in the league have genuine credentials for aspiring to Super League status, so as I said before, Ankaragucu will have their work cut out to be in a challenging position come the end of the season.

I watched two of the genuine contenders for promotion last night and, as I expected, the football on show was top notch.   Rize beat Samsun 1-0, but it could easily have been the other way around, such was the performance of both teams.    As it was, it took an opportunist strike from one of the many African players of both teams to win the match for Rize.

In another match last night, Erciyes was on fire to hammer top of the league 1461 Trabzon 5-1.    So, things are beginning to 'hot-up' in this league.

So, where does this leave Ankaragucu ?

I'm not suggesting that Ankaragucu should hit the panic button yet, but today's match is crucial to record a first win and start to move out of the bottom zone of the league.   The longer they linger there, the more difficult it will be to find the momentum to escape.

We are still waxing lyrical about last week's performance against Manisa and the key to Ankaragucu's success will be to maintain that type of performance week in and week out.    Anything less will leave Ankaragucu in a perilous position.

So, let's hope for something positive to come out of today's encounter with Urfa.    My report of the match will be up sometime tonight or tomorrow.

All the best from Eski Kanka Jim

  1. In a word we need consistency. Something I have not witnessed since becoming a supporter. Let's hope this season is a new beginning.

  2. nice summery Jim, have to agree with you both. We need consistency and we need a win today. There is no use playing well and not picking up the wins.

Surprised at the 1461 Trabzon score, great result for kayseri
