Eski Kanka drones on

The Turkish Super lig podcast that has no competitors is up on the intertubes and this week was better than ever... mainly thanks to Sir Eski Kanka's contribution. Check out the whole podcast here. (We are on from about 58 minutes in).

Unfortunately the main subject this week was Turkey's chance of winning the European Championships for 2016. Listen in and er... listen to Oz Kanka and Sir Eski destroy Turkey's chances.

Listen in people!

Well done the lads. All you both said was the truth.Though I did like the way your answers had a kind of gentle almost diplomatic way about them to begin with but then yous went in for the kill soon afterwards!

Great interview both of you, have to agree with you both on the bid for 2016. There is so much to be done before turkey can be considred.

Would be great if Ankara got a new stadium though

  3. Yeah, OK then. Pleased you liked it guys. We defo enjoyed doing it, especially as Neil says, as we upped the tempo near the end !!

The Bursa 'song' at the end was for the benefit of Ata who we believe is a Fener Fan. Must find out where Bugra's loyalties lie next time !

  4. Bugra is a Besiktas supporter

  5. I am a Fener fan, but I would have rather have seen Bursaspor win it this year than Fener. If Fener won it, it would be "big whoop, another big 3 team won it". But I wanted to see an Anatolian team win it in my lifetime, or at least someone who's never won it before, never thought it would be this soon.

  6. And just to prove it, because I know there are the doubters out there, I refer you all to Turkish Football Weekly episode 12 (the first time Oz Kanka was on) and listen from 58:16 (yes, I have the exact time), and proves that I wanted and hoped that Bursaspor won it.

  7. We believe Ata ... we believe Ata ..... we believe Ata !!!

However, I also believe that the three Istanbul teams will do their utmost to break up the present Bursa squad in a similar fashion to what happened to Sivas last summer !

  8. Hold fast, Bursa.

Ya know, you'd think I'd be bored of hearing both Oz and Eski since I see them fairly regularly at the pub and the stadium, and I fully expected to be ;-)but I thought you guys did a great job.

Hope they are more frequent guests on the program.

  10. I seriously doubt any of the Bursa players will want to leave. Considering they are in the Champions League group stages next year, and they would certainly want to try for the repeat title, I think they would want to build on their success.

anyone leaving Bursa would be mad, as Ata said a chance of champions league football and with an addition of a couple of players they could challange for the Super Lig Next season again, with Ankaragucu lol

some news just in guys, Roger Lemerre will not be continuing as Ankaragucu coach. Really dissapointed in this. The new coach will be announced in the next couple of days.

In other news from Poland it is reported Poland Captain Michael Zewlakov has signed a 2 year deal with Ankaragucu. He is a centre half.

It looks like there will be a few ins and outs in the summer.

more news in, its been reported Darius Vassell has been told to find a new club, although Vassell has said himself he knows nothing about this.

The club have confirmed that they will sign 4 top players with them been named in the next week. And Umit Ozat is expected to be new manager.

  14. Forgive me for me being cynical about the motives of the Istanbul Three. Let's hope I'm wrong and Bursa go on to prove a successful 'flag carrier' for Turkey.

Yes, I heard this morning that Monsieur Lemerre was departing - sad news indeed.

I also heard that Umit Ozat has been confirmed as the new coach. Time will tell how that works out.

As for the Polish centre half, good news if it means strengthening the defence. We can only hope that Geremi stays to support him.

Umit Ozat is the correct replacement to be fair. He has been with the club the last 6 months and will have learnt alot off of lemerre.

Im the same Jim re the signings, ill believe it when i see it.

  16. The Superlig has a new champion and hopefully this represents a sea change in the world of Turkish football. In spite of this dramatic turn of events, Ankaragücü management seem to be playing the same ol' stale, worn out, tired, game they've been playing since I got here about five years ago.

I just hope we are strong enough to help send Konya back down to the Bank of Asia league by taking six points away from them.

Oh, and I saw a Bursaspor message on Facebook welcoming Konyaspor back up and calling them renktaş. Made me sick to my stomach.

  17. Therefore, as a Hibernian FC Fanatik should I send a similar message to Konya from this website ???

    and the answers ??? ......

hello kankas, im hearing Ankaragucu have signed Guven Varol the captain of Manisaspor. Anyone else heard anything about this ?

    nadeem

  19. Yes Nadeem. One of the Security Guards at my school told me this morning.

Don't know much about him, but ..... I'm sure that YOU will give us the lowdown !!!

  20. And Turkey has lost it's bid to host the Euro 2016 championships. All rumours that the voters listened to Sir Eski and myself demolish Turkey's hopes are completely true.

  21. Anonymous9:13 pm

all i know is that he was manisa captain and he has signed a three year deal, were also after Aydin Toscali from Kayserispor.

Its with regret that i can confirm Darius Vassell has left the club, he has been told he doesn have a future at the club. Sad news as it never worked out for him.

more bad news kankas, Jerome Rothen has went back to Paris SG without signing a deal with Ankaragucu. Rothen said he loved his time in Turkey and its rejuvinated his career.

So thats Lemerre, Rothen, Vassell already away with Theo Weeks, Ariel Broggi and Robert Vittek unlikley to make there loan deals permanent.

Looks like were going to start the season with a brand new team again.
