A Hornets Nest !

Greetings Kankas and Kankies.

Ooooops ..... tilt ! Ankaragucu's new Chairman, Cengiz Topel Yildirim, has disturbed a Hornets Nest, and as we all know, that can be dangerous !

He is quoted in The Hurriyet this morning as saying that there will be no more free tickets for the tribunes. Wow !

This has been a practice since the days of Cemal Aydin and which continued under the Gokceks, and one which I have always considered to be bizarre.

Admittedly, our hands are not totally clean, since from time to time we kankas have been offered (and taken) free tickets from the Anti-X guys who know us. However, I have to say that I have never been happy about this situation - as a supporter of Ankaragucu I am ready, willing and able to put my money into the Club for the benefit of the Club.

So, it will be very interesting to see the effect of this courageous ruling by Cengiz Bey, starting with the match tomorrow. Let's see if it affects the loyalty of the tribunes ?!

Cengiz Bey also said that Ankaragucu will produce kombine tickets (season tickets) this season for the first time in about 3 years. Good. Battle Damaged Kanka Damon and I will be buying them next week when we know the details.

A good first step by Cengiz Bey. His next step is to arrange for the Club's debts to be paid !!

All the best from Eski Kanka Jim

You're right Jim, it was an unusual practice.I did read that after their 8-2 drubbing by Man Utd the other week Arsenal have offered free tickets and travel costs for another away match to all their fans who went to Old Trafford.
Will help the new policy though if Ankaragucu get off to a winning start tomorrow!

  2. In one of the Ankaragücü chants they say, "Canım feda olsun sana" which basically means that they will sacrifice themselves for the club.

Anyone who sings that should not be using the team to make money. They should be willing to sacrifice their fnnn cigarette money for a damn season ticket.

Price of a pack of cigarettes? Ask Eski.

Price of a season ticket for Gecekondu 75 TL. Can't beat that.

Aye, well said both of you.

Further ..... Damon and I will go to Tandogan today (Saturday), prior to meeting for the match, to buy Maraton Kombine tickets. Price ? TL 100. Can't beat that for a bargain when you consider that Nadeem told us that it is 600 quid for a Rangers Kombine !

However, even TL 75 may be beyond the means of some (or most) of the Gecikondu boys for Kale !
