UEFA Suspends Beşiktaş For One Season

Beşiktaş is not allowed to play in next season's Europa League. UEFA has suspended Besiktas from European competitions for one year and fined them 200,000 euros ($250,700) due to financial problems, Turkish media reported on Wednesday.

The shares of Beşiktaş immediately fell by 9.9 percent, although the news has not been officially confirmed yet.

Beşiktaş finished fourth in the Turkish Süper Lig this season, and thus placed itself for the Europa League play-offs.

  1. It seems that Bursa and Gaziantep are also punished and kicked out of European competitions - Bursa for allegedly not paying a previous transfer fee and I'm not sure what Antep's been done for.

    Any more details ?
