Greetings Kankas and Kankies.
After Turkey’s unfortunate and sad exit from the Yooro Nations Cup it is time to take a short `breather` before Club action resumes.
History has shown that Germany must never be under-estimated on a footie field, but Turkey surely gave them the fright of their lives in the Semi Final.
I say ….. well done Turkey. The players can return with their heads held high and be proud of their endeavours.
Turning to Club footie. I have some dates for your diaries.
The Ankara TSYD (Sports Writers) Cup will take place at Ankara’s 19 Mayis Stadium from 15th to 17th August.
I am not sure of the exact line-up yet, but I can confirm that ANKARAGUCU has been invited this year. Presumably Gencler, OFTAS and Ankaraspor will also take part.
League action commences the following weekend 22nd August.
More news on this when I have it.
All the best from Eski Kanka Jim
Hello Eski Kanka Jim,
ReplyDeleteThere's no time for breathers when your a finely tuned athlete such as yourself (so oz kanka tells me), you must always be ready for ankaragucu's call up!
As for the Essendon bombers, i must confess i do not hold a huge interest in AFL but i do know they are suffering from quite a few injuries and also may sign Ben Cousins. Who I've heard is a drug taking, headline grabbing "Pretty Boy". Apparently he is also quite good at footy.
Anyway, I went down to Auburn to watch the Turkey v Germany match. Unfortunately elation was soon followed by despair twice in that game. Oh yeah it was bloody freezing, 4am in the middle of winter standing in the street with a thousand turks, but hey you only live once.
Speak to you soon,
Oz kankas brother.
P.s. Mine was the only Gencler jerzey there. No Ankaragucu shirts, sorry Eski Kanka Jim!
I have to congratulate you for 2 things Oz Kanka's brother ....
ReplyDelete1. It takes guts to wear a Gencler top, especially in Ankara where ANKARAGUCU roolz !!!
2. Withstanding the Antartic winds up yir kilt and supporting Turkey deserves all the accolades I can give you.
Which is more than can be said for you luvvlie brother who wimps out at the least sign of winter approaching and watches his footie in the comfort of a warm bar with cold beer while we hardy ANKARAGUCU `real` supporters brave the Anatolian elements !!!
Nae doot you will be supporting Spain on Sunday along with most of Turkey ??!!
By the way, next time Oz Kanka goes `down under` I'll send you a ANKARAGUCU top to wear with pride yesssssssss !!
All the best from Brave Eski Kanka Jim
