Sivasspor 1-3 Ankaragucu - Match Report!

I believe its over 20 years since Ankaragucu last won in Sivas before last nights 3-1 victory and the teams first win of the season. It was a tough test for the team as they were without key players Rafal, Mert and Ali Sowe due to injury.

Team - Bahadir, Kitsiou, Uros, Nihad, Hanousek, Tolga, Djokanovic, Efkan, Morutan, Rodrigues, Bajic

Subs - Dogukan, Alperen, Alper, Atakan, Cem, Tasos, Ali Kaan, Cephas, Macheda. Hayrullah

The first chance of the game came on the 10th minute when Sivas broke down the Ankaragucu right hand side with Njie who cut inside and shot but Bahadir made a good save.

Seven minutes later another counter attack from Sivas saw Saiz break forward with the ball and shoot from outside the box, Bahadir should have saved but the ball went into the back of  the net to give Sivas the lead.

Ankaragucu only started playing once Sivas scored, and Hanousek had the first chance but his shot from distance was easily saved by Vural.

A few minutes later Ankaragucu were back on level terms. A good ball into the box from Hanousek was met by the head of Morutan and the ball went into the back of the net to make it 1-1.

At the other end Sivas had a chance to take the lead again but Emrah Bassan saw his shot brilliantly saved by Bahadir from point blank range.

Half Time - 1-1

Sivas almost took the lead straight from kick off as a headed effort came back off the post.

Then came the turning point in the match on the 58th minute as Clinton Njie was red carded for his second yellow card of the game.

Ten minutes later Ankaragucu took the lead. Garry Rodrigues laid the ball off to Tolga on the edge of the box who saw his deflected shot go past Vural in the Sivas goal to make it 2-1.

Sivasspor had a could of chances late in the game but Bahadir made 3 good saves, one which lead to a counter attack with Renaldo Cephas who was too quick for the defender before putting the ball into an empty net as Vural had went up the pitch for a corner trying to get Sivas back into the game. 3-1 full time win for Ankaragucu.

There were some good performances in the Ankaragucu team from Bahadir, Morutan and Djokanovic in particular. I gave Bahadir some stick after the goal was conceded, but credit to him he performed very well afterwards.

Still a lot of work to be done as it took Sivas going down to 10 men for Ankaragucu to take hold of the game. We need to see a big improvement as the team welcomes Konyaspor to Eryaman stadium on Sunday.
