THE TWO FACES OF ESKI KANKA

Greetings Kankas and Kankies. It is all upbeat news tonight and Eski Kanka is on a high (for a change).

The neighbours saw Eski Kanka's `happy` face tonight when he was singing and dancing on the balcony when Super Manisa were leading Galata....spit....saray 2-1 with only a few minutes to go (assisted by 1 or 2 EFES !!). Then........... the famous `Turkish Referees Syndrome` kicked in and the `usual` penalty was awarded with only a few minutes to go !!

OK........ 2-2, but 2 more points denied to `that Istanbul team` and well done Manisa and Ersun Yanal (the most successful ex-ANKARAGUCU coach in living memory !!).

Fast forward to next week........... and Eski Kanka will be screaming abuse at Manisa players when they come to play ANKARAGUCU next Sunday.

Come to the Stadium next Sunday and see the other face of Eski Kanka.

PS......... Hibs beat Motherwell 3-1 today - look forward to report from Hibbie Kanka.

All the best from Anti-Istanbul Eski Kanka Jim

  1. I think the ref was evening things up for the wrongly called offised goal and the clear penalty not given on Necati a few minutes earlier! Maybe the beer goggles should be left off for the next game!!!

  2. Oh yes, and while I was `reasonably` sober, the Galata...spit...saray `butchers` ensured that at least one Manisa player was hospitalised !!! Spare a thought for Meduna - another innocent victim put to the sword !!

Fener now 4 points ahead of Cimbom and nerve ends are beginning to jangle ??!!

  3. Sir Eski, I think you will find that it was the heat that led to the fellow having to be taken away by ambulance. Let's hope he is okay.

  4. Oz Kanka...... never believe everything that you see..... only believe half what you see !!!

That is a quote from the late, great Burt Lancaster !! and.... more importantly .... never believe what journalists report and want you to believe !!!

  5. Aye'
over here in Ireland we watch Hurling and you're allowed to put people in hospital as long as it is in the spirit of the game. I was given a book by a school-mate. He is a Raith Rovers turned Celtic now turned Hibernian fan. The book is called 'Heartfelt'. Eski Kanka may have heard of it. The author is Aidan Smith a life long Hibs fan and sports journalist. 2 years ago he decided to switch teams for a season and go to all the Hearts games. I've no finished it yet but might be worth getting a copy of Jim. Subtitled 'Drinking Bovril From The Devil's Cup'. Hibs for The CIS Cup! I'll ask Mickey if he can help when I'm over in Euro Disney.
