And in today's paper

Not quite a story about us but Sabah newspaper's Ankara pullout did mention to get a few of the Kankas onto its sports page, including Maniac Kanka Harun's efforts at getting the German ambassador to put on an Ankaragucu top.

  1. Thank you Nathan.

Definitely a `scoop` for ANKARAGUCU. I wonder if this photo will find its way back to Germany and feature in their sports pages ??!!

Our next quest will be to have the British Ambassador photographed with an ANKARAGUCU top.

It will not be easy, but if Frodo can deliver The Ring to Mordor against all the odds, then there is always hope for my quest !!!

  4. I was wondering when someone was going to say that.

  5. ...... ahemmm......and I was wondering when Oz Kanka was going to say it !! I never thought for one moment that a beautiful Turkish lady would mention it.... tut tut tut shock horror !!!

As for Maniac Kanka's suggestion, yes go ahead and do your utmost. With Lanky Kanka Jorg heading back to Germany soon, he won't be there to `intimidate` his Ambassador with threats of Genclerbirligi retribution !!!

  6. My next quest for my site is to get a picture of Gulay wearing a Fener shirt.

  8. Of course we know Tanil Bora. He sits with us, or near us, for most Gencler games.

  12. I'm quite happy to look at photos of Gulay wearing ANY shirt. I'm sure `the husband` will agree with my sentiments ?!

By the way Nathan, the Radikal is not as radical as The Guardian !!

  13. I've never seen Gulay; is she quite "the looker?"

  14. Without wishing to embarrass Gulay, I would say that the answer is ......... most definitely !

Turkey is world famous for its `Turkish Delights` !!!

  15. I love how we are talking about Gulay as if she doesn't read this....

Yes, Eski, I know what you mean. If I were single, I would have already moved to Turkiye by now. Turkish women are the best in the world...

  18. tanil bora'a a bit of an intellectual, isn't he? writes about nationalism and stuff. he's an editor for an academic publisher in ankara as well as a columnist. he might write about sports management but I'd expect he was more interested in the politics and sociology of sport.
