Going Dutch

I have no idea where people are going to watch tonight's AZ Alkmaar - Fenerbahce match but just to get people in the mood I thought I'd post a photo of us giving Flying Dutchman Kanka Carlo some moral support a couple of week's ago.

What you cannot see in the photo are all the Ankara Fener fans who we had to outshout.

  1. Well......... mixed feelings after last night's result.

We are all happy that Flying Dutchman Kanka's team go into the hat for the next round. On the other hand, it is the end of Turkey's involvement in YooRo Footie this season, so no more UEFA points to be won.

Due to darts matches last night, we were dispersed around Ankara and so no more photos showing our celebrations.

Maniac Kanka was in The Cappadokia, Flying Dutchman Kanka was in The Pub in Cankaya, while Oz Kanka and I were in the Red Lion Club mixing darts and footie.

Great last goal from AZ with only 3 minutes remaining on the clock to win on the away goals rule.

I am sure that Glasgow Rangers will be hoping that they don't draw AZ in the next round ??!!

    Comments from Flying Dutchman ???

That was UEFA cup and that was then…

We are playing Champions League next!

    KAMPIOENEN, KAMPIOENEN, KAMPIOENEN

Below link to video of unofficial, impromptu celebrations when fans came to the stadium last night 19.04.2009 (we played on Saturday). Next week the official awards ceremony after the away game at AJAX (that's right we are champions with three matches to spare).

Twente, Ajax, PSV and Heerenveen are still battling it out for second, third and fourth place that give right to CL qualifiers, UEFA Cup and UEFA Cup play-offs respectively. Ajax not having a very good night last night loosing 6-2 at the hands of PSV.

    Stats thusfar: W/D/L 24/4/3
28 matches in a row unbeaten
    22 clean sheets
939 minutes clean sheet Sergio Romero
