Ankaragücü sign Jesé Rodriguez!

Ankaragücü tonight announced one of the surprise signings of the summer so far as they unveiled former Real Madrid and PSG winger Jesé Rodriguez. The club formally announced the signing with a fantastic video on their official Twitter page.

The signing has been met with a lot of excitement from the Ankaragücü fans who will be hoping the Spaniard can find some of the form from his earlier career that saw him play with giants such as Real, PSG who spent over 20 million euros for his signature.

Unfortunately things didn’t work out for him in the French capital and other bad spells at Stoke and Sporting Lisbon will give the player some motivation to show what he is capable of in the Turkish capital.

His most recent form with Las Palmas in Spain was not bad but Jese will see this as an opportunity to get back playing at the top level and hopefully help the club to push for those European spots.

Jesé signs a 1 year contract with the option of an extra year. Let’s hope for the club and player it’s a successful one.

Ankaragucu transfer latest!

Ankaragucu continue to make preparations for the Super Lig with new additions to the squad and continue talks with other targets.

The club added Adanaspor winger Firatcan Uzum to the squad last week signing a 2+1 year contract. The 23 year old can play on either wing and played 29 games scoring 2 goals and adding 2 assists last season in Lig 1.

Mervan Yigit is also set to sign for the club for a reported £50,000 from Kocaelispor. The 20 year old striker scored 9 goals in 30 games for Kocaeli last season and scored against Ankaragucu last season in the cup.

Ankaragucu are also reported to be in talks with Stephen Bahoken from Angers who is available on a free transfer. The 30 year old striker and former Chelsea striker Diego Costa have been linked with a move over the last couple of days.

Ankaragucu sign Dogukan Kaya!

Ankaragucu have signed Kocaelispor goalkeeper Dogukan Kaya on a 4 year contract. The 22 year old keeper was back up for the PTT Lig side last season playing only 1 game.

Its a bit of a surprise signing with the club already having Bahadir as first choice and Mert Topuz who signed a new 2 year contract earlier this week.

Ankaragücü sign Pedrinho!

Ankaragücü announced their 4th signing of the summer this afternoon with Portuguese midfielder Pedrinho arriving in the Turkish Capital.

The move is a big coup for the club as the 29 year old was named in the team of the season in the Portuguese Super Lig adding 14 assists to his name. It is believed the club paid £75,000 for the player who has signed  a 2 year deal.

Ankaragücü haven’t had this kind of player in their team since the days of Marek Sapara. Our very own Kanka Miguel gave us some insight into the player earlier today which highlight how good a player Pedrinho is both going forward in a creative role, and also defensively winning the ball back.

Faruk Koca confirmed the club are in talks with multiple players who play for their national team and more signings will be announced soon. Benjamin Tetteh, Elaqium Mangala and Budu Zivzivadze are all linked with a move to the club.

In other news Erdi Dikmen has signed for Altinordu permanently in a £140,000 move after his loan spell last season.

Ankaragucu latest news!

Ankaragucu made their 3rd signing of the summer after adding Gaziantep right back Oguz Ceylan to the squad on a free transfer. Oguz was backup to former Ankaragucu defender Stelios Kitsiou and the signing has raised a few questions from the Ankaragucu support. We will wait and see whether Oguz was brought in as backup or if he will be first choice.

The club announced the departures of Erdem Ozgenc, Yusuf Abdioglu, Mehmet Murat Ucar, Akin Alkan, Ishak Cakmak, Huseyin Acar, Kwabena Owusu, Aatif, Geraldo and Cem. Thiago Pinto has also announced his retirement from football.

Of those players who will depart Erdem again has been a fantastic servant for the club with both him and Yusuf playing their part in 2 promotions to the Super Lig. Owusu has been sent back to Qarabag due to disciplinary problems, and Murat Ucar was a surprise as he was seen as a player who could play multiple positions.

In other news, the club have pulled out of a move for Brighton striker Danny Wellbeck. Faruk Koca said they agreed a move with the player but agents got involved and due to complications the club decided against the signing.

Sinan Osmanoglu has signed a new 1 year deal with the club, again which is a bit of a surprise. Sinan was a decent player in Lig 1, but he is not good enough to play in the Super Lig. We saw what Gerson Rodrigues done to him and how he performed against better quality players.

The club are also in talks with Metz midfielder Ibrahim Amadou who also spent time at Seville and Norwich. He was very highly rated at Lille before making a big money move to Seville.

Faruk Koca has also today confirmed the club will move back to 19 Mayis stadium and we should hear news shortly on when construction of the stadium will begin.
