GENCLERBIRLIGI BACK ON TRACK !

Greetings Kankas and Kankies.

Genclerbirligi is obviously determined to stay in the title race with another hard fought narrow victory yesterday.

GENCLERBIRLIGI     2             Umraniye      1

Team – Emrullah, Ahmet Oguz, Mert, Claro, Alper, Yasin, Selcuk, Jailton, Sessognon, Ahmet Ilhan and Stancu

Sustitutes used – Nadir and Matei

Yasir of Umraniye scored an own-goal after only 10 minutes to settle nerves, and then Stancu made the match ‘safe’ shortly after the re-start in the 2nd half.

Umraniye gained a consolation goal almost on the final whistle but too late to find the equaliser.

This win moves Gencler back into a serious challenging position at the top, and with Denizli playing Osman....spit....li tonight it will be tight at the top.   I’ll put the league positions up here in the comments section tomorrow.

By the way, I noticed from fb yesterday that Lanky Kanka attended the match, so I will ask him to put any further details in the comments section.

Focus now switches to  the Super League and Ankaragucu today in their bid to exit the relegation zone !!

Keep watching this space !

All the best from Eski Kanka Jim

  2. A shock result in Denizli yesterday when Osman...spit...li won 2-0 to upset the form book.

Now there is a very interesting situation at the top with Denizli, Osmanli and Gencler all on 47 points with Umraniye a further 6 points back.

Interesting days ahead me thinks !!!

    Next weekend -

Saturday - Elazig v Denizli and Osmanli v Gazisehir

    Sunday - Afyon v Gencler

  3. Denizli won 2-1 away in Elazig today (2 March)

and .. surprise ....surprise ....... Osman....spit....li lost 1-0 at home to Gazi.

So, extra incentive, if it was needed, for Gencler to win tomorrow in Afyon.

    Do it !!!
