Greetings Kankas
and Kankies.
Gencler turned
the form book upside-down today to win 3 vital points against the 3rd
top team in the league in their quest to avoid relegation.
This result will
go a long way to ensuring that they move out of the danger area.
If they can
continue to play with the fire and passion that they showed today then they will
surely move into a safe mid-table position.
5 points clear of the 4th bottom team is a start !!
GENCLERBIRLIGI 2 Bandirma 0
Team – Ramazan,
Omurcan, Metehan, Gokhan, Muhammed, Tshibola, Hrechyshkin, Baris, Sallallich,
Musa and Lima
Substitutes –
Aksel, Ilker, Altiparmak and Serdarcan
It took until
the 20th minute for the first serious attempt on goal when Keny
received the ball inside the 6 yard box and his shot was well saved by Ramazan.
12 minutes later
and in Gencler’s first serious attack of the match they opened the scoring from
a corner, which was needlessly conceded by the Bandirma goalkeeper, Gokhan,
when he mis-kicked a clearance when it was easier to head the ball to a
defender in his vicinity. The corner
was sent into the box and Metehan was able to loop a volley inside the right
post.
Bandirma had 65%
possession which was concentrated in their own half and midfield with the
Gencler players harrying them continuously and forcing Bandirma into
errors. So, to be honest, Gencler was
good value for their 1st half lead when they took their one chance
well !
Gencler came out
for the 2nd half all fired up and obviously encouraged by going in
1-0 up at half time. Sallallich had
two good chances to increase their lead, and from the 2nd in the 74th
minute they found the 2nd goal.
Sallallich’s
shot inside the box was deflected for a corner, and from the resultant corner,
Lima sent in a bullet of a header inside the left post with Gokhan static on
his line in the centre.
So, a well
deserved win by Gencler with Bandirma unable to threaten in the 2nd
half.
More of the same
will be required on Friday when Gencler travel to relegation threatened
Denizli.
As always, watch
this space for the outcome.
All the best
from Eski Kanka Jim
