Trabzonspor 1-0 Ankaragücü match report!

Twelve new players and somehow Ilhan Parlak still started for Ankaragücü today. And again he put in an awful performance constantly giving the ball away while firing a blank and creating 0 assists. It’s indefensible any manager giving Ilhan a starting slot when he consistently delivers dreadful performances.

Mustafa Kaplan handed 4 debuts in the starting line up as Kitsiou, Moke, Boyd and Orgill all made their first start. All of the signings imprssed and the overall performance of the team will give the fans some hope that we can avoid relegation.

As of all 3 of the games he has been in charge, Ankaragücü were a goal down in the first 6 minutes. Abdulkadir Omer beat Alihan before crossing for Rodallega who brilliantly beat 2 Ankaragücü defenders before sending Altay the wrong way and slotting the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

It looked like Ankaragücü were heading for another thumping but the players rolled up their sleeves and put in a spirited performance. Straight from kick of Orgill laid the ball off for Boyd whose thunderous shot was well saved by Ugurcan.

At the other end Omer again linked with Rodaellga but the Colombians shot was easily saved by Altay.

Into the second half and Rodallega was the provider this time for Ekuban, but the Nigerian dragged his shot wide when he should have score.

Then came the controversial moment of the match. Sedat broke into the Trabzon box before crossing for Orgill, the big Jamaican fell to the floor before getting back up and slotting the ball into the net. The referee ruled it out for handball as when falling Orgill hand brushed the ball. Replays showed that it was unintentional and as per the rule from a Turkish referee in the BeIN Sports studio the goal should have stood.

Yusuf Yazici had a shot from distance easily saved by Altay, before the Turkish U21 International made another excellent save from Ekuban minutes later. 

Substitute Hadi Sacko had a couple of chances as he was put through by Aydin Karabulut but on both occasions Ugurcan saved as Sacko went for the near post. Ankaragucu were also denied 2 further penalties much to the disappointment of the travelling support.

Another defeat but Mustafa Kaplan can take a lot of positives from the performance and it Kasimpasa at home next Monday which is a must win against a team struggling without Mbaye Diagne.

Ankaragucu January transfer window roundup!

With weeks of unrest at the club and it looking like the transfer ban wouldnt be lifted, the Ankaragucu management team somehow found the funds to pay off the outstanding debts, remove the transfer ban and sign 12 new players. Time will tell if the players brought in are of the quality needed to help the club avoid relegation but they have at least given themselves a fighting chance. El Kabir was set for a move to Qatar but the move fell through at the last minute.

Trio sign on!

Another 3 pieces of the puzzle were added tonight as Ankaragücü completed the signings of Zaur Sadaev, Aydin Karabukut and Cebrail Karayel. There are reports that the club have also signed Oscar Scarione and Stallone Limbomba but we are still trying to confirm if that is true.

Aydin Karabulut returns to the club for his 2nd spell and has spent the last 4 weeks training with the team in a bid to earn a deal. Cebrail has also been training with the team and has signed a 2.5 year deal.

Zaur is most notably known after a controversial spell at Beitar Jerusalem in Israel who have a large section of their support called La Familia who oppose the club signing Muslims. Zaur and his international team mate joined the club but had to cut their time short due to the protests and violence of sections of their support.

The reinforcements continue!

Another busy day for Ankaragucu as the club have completed the signings of 2 more players, with at least 1 more expected before tonight's deadline.

Jamaican International striker Dever Orgill has signed a 1.5 year deal from Austrian side Wolfsburger and stated that his decision was made due to the atmosphere created by the Ankaragucu fans. The forward is highly rated by his former club and is an all action type player who gives 100 percent every time he is on the pitch.

Joining him is Argentinian midfielder Miguel Canteros who has singed on loan until the end of the season. The former Velez Sarsfield player has been recently playing in Brazil and is looking forward to the next chapter in his career.

On the way out of the club is Kenan Ozer who has signed for Gazisehir and Erdem Ozgenc who signed for Genclerbirligh. Both will be missed after a fantastic couple of seasons where both players gave everything for the club and were key to getting Ankaragucu back in the Super Lig.

Moestepha El Kabir has also left the club after agreeing a 350K move to Qatarai Side Al Rayyan.

The Greek checks in!

Ankaragucu have completed the loan signing of Stelios Kitsiou from PAOK until the end of the season. The former team mate of Thibault Moulin was paraded this afternoon and will compete with Erdem Ozgenc for the right back position.

The 25 year old has spent the majority of his career at PAOK and a loan spell in Belgium with Sint Trudiense and has also been capped twice by the Greek national team.

Duo depart!

With all incoming players, it was inevitable that there would be a couple of players moving in the other direction. Sadly one of the key players during the double promotion campaign for the club Kenan Ozer is on his way out as he looks set to sign with Gazisehir. Kenan played a huge part in the Lig 2 campaign coming up with numerous key moments including his equalizer in the match with Tuzlaspor. We would like to wish him all the best with his new club!

Also on the move is Kubily Kanatsizkus who after an unsuccessful loan spell and only 1 goal moves back to Bursaspor.

Ankaragucu complete another double swoop!

Ankaragucu have now signed 4 new players in the last 2 days as Tyler Boyd and Ante Kulusic both completed their moves this afternoon. Their could yet be more signings in the next couple of hours as the club are working tirelessly behind the scenes ahead of tomorrows transfer deadline.

Boyd arrives from Portuguese Premier league side Vitoria Guimaraes on loan until the end of the season. He has found it difficult to break into the first team at Guimaraes on a regular basis and has most recently had a loan spell at Tondela where he impressed. The 24 year old is a winger who has been capped at international and our very own Miguel will hopefully add some more information in the comments section.

Also making the move to the club is former Genclerbirligi fans favorite Ante Kulusic. The 32 year old Croatian centre half has signed a 1.5 year deal on a free from FC Sheriff in Moldova. Kulusic spent 6 years at Gencler over 2 spells at the club and hopefully some of the resident Gencler fans can give us a run down on what to expect.
