Greetings Kankas and Kankies.

Just read in Posta this morning that ANKARAGUCU has signed a new goalkeeper.

So, are Serkan's days numbered ?! Watch this space for the answer.

Egyptian Sherif Ekramy has arrived from Feyenoord. However, not sure of the details, ie, how much he cost and length of contract. More from Maniac Kanka on this I'm sure.

So, with Serkan, Yasin and Sherif fighting for a place in the starting line-up it can't be a bad thing. No room for complacency me thinks.

All the best from Eski Kanka

PS...... Have to dash ..... time for another dip in the pool before my pre-lunch Efes yesssss !!!

It is a peculiar transfer of Feyenoord making it they only have until Monday to find a new goalkeeper. According to Peter Bosz they do have a problem as they don't have an alternative (yet). The trainer thought of it as an acceptable risk(??)
Hiring a new goalkeeper before Ekramy had been sold was for financial reasons, not an option.

However there had not been many clubs interested in the Egyptian, who could insufficiently convince in his three seasons with Feyenoord. Although Sivaspor, Murcia en Nice had an interest at an earlier time they only wanted to hire him. Ekramy got noted by Ankaragücü whilst playing against Konyaspor two weeks ago. The goalkeeper can be hired by Ankaragücü for one year (with an option to buy).

Feyenoord wanted to sell Ekramy but they changed their minds, with closing of the transfer market being very near, and went for plan B.

Sheriff is a very good goalkeeper , but any goalkeeper needs to have many matched to impress and this wasn't available at Feyenoord .

Sheriff was the goalkeeper of Egypt's youth national team and won 3rd in the world cup

I'm waiting to get news about him from your blog , I can't find any updated news in English:D

  3. Good to hear from you again Ahmad.

I'm sure Sherif will feature at some stage in the season and I'll let you know about his performance and the reaction of the fans.

In the meantime, keep reading our blog and make comments when you feel like it.
