Greetings Kankas and Kankies.
The Ankara Technical Directors (or Team Coaches) 'Merry-go-Round' article in The Hurriyet this morning made sad reading. Too many 'quick fixes' and not enough stability ! btw, you will be pleased to hear that I'm not going to list them all here !!
That was the point I was making to Mesut Bakkal about players when he visited my school recently, and he, better than anyone, knows it also applies to Technical Directors !
On the subject of Fuat Capa, it is interesting to note that he was Coach of Gencler in the 2007/2008 Season for only 5 matches. Not a statistic to fill Gencler supporters with optimism for the new season. Another CavCav quick fix ??!!
On another subject, and more doom and gloom. Sestak's future at Ankaragucu is in serious doubt after Bochum made it known that Ankaragucu has not paid his loan fee yet. More ammunition for FIFA to fire at Ankaragucu in addition to all the other financial irregularities !
Is there any good news on the horizon me wonders ??!!

so what are they saying about this Jim ? Are they going to pay it ? this is getting out of hand, we could even be facing point deductions or relegation if the Turkish FA decide to step in

I haven't found anything else on the Ankaragucu/Fifa story, beyond what Hurriyet wrote the other day. But other things have been going on in Turkey.
ReplyDeleteI'll update if I see anything.
This is the first time I'm hearing about this. Any chance someone can explain the full situation? By email if possible or here.
ReplyDeleteAta, we are only as good as the news we receive from The Hurriyet or on the 'grapevine'.
ReplyDeleteSpine has his finger on the pulse and will keep us updated from his journalistic sources.
I'm tempted to say ..... no news is good news .... but, I won't !!!

13 June - Nadeem was asking for news about Hurriyet Gucer ......
ReplyDeleteAccording to my understanding, I think Ankaragucu is going to allow him to stay at Gaziantep (not sure if it's on loan or permanent).
To replace him, they are planning to bring in a Portugese player, Miguel Rodrigues from Guimares.
There is also news in The Hurriyet this morning that Ankaragucu is planning to sign the Bosnian stopper, Adnan Mravac from Belgian Club Westerlo.
So, the question is ........ what about the supposed FIFA transfer ban ???
Don't ask me to answer that yet ..... let's play the wait and see game !!

Here it is from a different source:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.ajansspor.com/futbol/superlig/h/20110611/ankaragucune_transfer_yasagi.html
Adnan Mravac was on trial with Ankaragucu last season and failed to win a deal. He spent time in England with Doncaster and didnt exactly impress. i cant see him improving our squad.
ReplyDeleteAs Jim said what he hell is going on if we cant sign anyone???
in other transfer news, Serdar Ozkan has left the club and is now free to find a new club. Another player who hasnt been paid.
ReplyDeleteSerdar looked a good player and im dissapointed were loosing him.
This just gets more depressing by the day
nadeem
Some good news at last. Adem Kocak has signed a new three year contract with the club.
ReplyDeleteRobert Vittek could still win his move to Trabzonspor in a £4 Million deal.
Ankaragucu and Trabzonspor are set to agree on a £3.25 Million pound move for Robert Vittek. The money will be used to bring Roman Bednar to the team and other players. It believed we are trying to sign a Czech, Croation and French player.
ReplyDeleteJarioslaw Cerny has been linked with a move to Sivasspor
Melih Gokcek has said they new Stadium will be completed within the next year and half, he said work will start soon and it will become the best stadium in Turkey.
ReplyDeleteHe also said the stories about the debt have been exagerated. The club will also sign a Czech, Slovakian and Franch national players in the next week.
Again how this works with the Fifa ban i dont know
Don't forget Nadeem that Mr Gokcek is a politician !!
ReplyDeleteDid we (sensible people !!) believe everything which came out of the mouths of Messrs Blair and Brown ??!!
I hate to say it again, but I think this is a case of 'suck it and see' !
I only rely on the comments coming from our resident journalist ....... Spine !
