ANKARAGUCU WIN, BUT ....... RECEIVE ZERO POINTS !!!

Greetings Kankas and Kankies.

Whaaaaaaaat ?      How can that be ???

Darkness descended on the 19 Mayis Stadium in Ankara when we had a massive power cut after 35 minutes last night which affected the floodlights and stadium internal lights.    There had been a power outage of the internal lights in the 10th minute which held up play for about 5 minutes, but we didn’t have an inkling of what was to come at that time !

Anyway, we all met-up in high spirits full of expectation in the TSYD Restaurant where we welcomed back Scouse Kanka Marcus for a quick visit to Ankara.   Also there were Maniac Kanka Harun, Nurer Kanka, Battle Damaged Kanka Damon, Posh Kanka Ahmet, and later in the Stadium, Vittoria Kanka Miguel.

It was pissing down with rain pre-match and during the match, but that didn’t seem to bother the Ankaragucu players who went straight into attack mode from the off.

Ankaragucu almost took the lead in the 2^nd minute when Kenan made a pinpoint pass to Enes, but his shot whizzed past the post.

16 minutes brought on a chorus of the Bursa song as Ankaragucu continued to dominate proceedings.   The goalkeeper came to Adana’s rrescue with a save on the 28^th minute, but he was unable to prevent the opening goal 4 minutes later.

A corner on the right was floated in and first to react in the crowded penalty area was Yusuf who prodded the ball in from close range.

Then, 3 minutes later ........... BLACKOUT !!!

We waited about half an hour before the announcement was made to postpone the match.    So, off to The Bira Park we trotted for some refreshments, and not forgetting Mercimek Soup for Marcus and Damon !
